ability to colour code the groups
A further thought about color coding -- permit users to define and color-code CATEGORIES -- another dimension to the information about items. Category info is conveyed at a glance -- for example, phone calls could be green, HOT items could be red, etc etc - User would define the colors - and items could be sorted either by Group (user defined) or color coded Category

this will be done in DorisDesktop

@Roger - I hear your frustration, we're sorry we can't get out all the features users want, we're actually trying to figure out how to make this project profitable at the current time, and therefore sustainable. Maintaining the status quo is not a problem, but developing new features is very expensive. Thanks for your support and pls stay posted for updates.

So this item has been ranked #1 for around 9 months. As scobell points out, this is a simple idea that goes well with the design and spirit of Doris -- but I guess an idea (no matter how simple and popular) that the designers don't like, will not get much attention. I understand.

Contexts are simple categories and one can choose to use them or not.
So they are in essence a very simple concept and thus goes hand in hand with simplicity.
Albert Einstain said it better : "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler"

Our primary goal is to keep Doris as simple and user-friendly as possible. Other GTD apps call this "another dimension" as "context".
I personally would prefer to avoid context and stick to tags, but let's see how many supporters this request will get.
