Have an alternative compact view
Doris takes up a lot of screen real estate. It would be nice to be able to toggle to a compact view that would simply be an outline or tree format.
3 votesthis sounds like a good idea for the desktop app, i.e., comparable to how the compact iTunes view works

Make sorting consistent between iPhone and web app
I choose Doris over the dozen other options because I can simply sort my pile of tasks before I sit down to take action. However, it's frustrating that sorting on the paid iPhone app does not transfer the web app and vice-versa.

Today should always stay at the top
When I add new groups, they should go under Today

sometimes you can have many groups, and you need to put Today next to a group at the bottom of the list to make drag/drop possible. When we implement an iphone-like way of changing groups we can consider this.

Ability to sort groups and to-dos alphabetically
It would be useful to sort to-dos within groups. For example, I use the GTD framework and have my groups set as contexts e.g. At Office, At Computer, Calls etc.
To be able to sort alphabetically with manual tags would improve the effectiveness of the organisation system (e.g. todo: "CH - call re staff appraisals" or "Project A - draft ideas")

Some Formatting Issues of the Printed version of Toplist
I love having the todolist online, but sometimes a paper gives an extra dimension.
Now we're really getting into details but to make Doris even better, I suggest you look over the formatting for "print":
We website title that is written out as a page header is trunked så the end of the tagline "getting things done..." not is shown in Swedish. You might want to shorten the title in the print version.
When you print a long todo list over several pages (maybe I have to much stuff in the backlog he he), items get literary cut into halves…

allow the characters < and > in tasks
Currently Doris removes these characters if they appear to be an HTML tag. For example, it will remove <foo>
It would be great if these characters could just be translated to > and <. I don't want to use HTML in the tasks, but sometimes I need to write "Search legacy code and replace <b> with <strong>"
