@estrathmeyer - ok, well I can understand where you're coming from. if we make it a setting then those who want it can enable it, as per your first suggestion. please vote on it :-)

We don't force anything on the user. Generally we find, as you say, users enter many tasks at once. They mostly enter them in the Today group, then drag them into the specific group they want.
We had tasks entering at the bottom as you suggest a few months ago but it became very difficult to see what you just entered when you already had a long list. In some cases the task would appear below the fold. We found this *really* didn't work out.

yes let's see how many votes this gets. I can think of 2-3 iphone apps that do this (completed tasks zipped to other parts of screen) and I also find it disconcerting.

yep, a lot of people have mentioned this a we recognise the problem also. in the 'more' options we plan to offer a 'recatogorise' choice similar to what's currently implemented on the iphone.

The fact that you can't do this currently was an oversight on our part. We will be fixing Doris to work as you say in the very near future.

From an anon user: "Some tasks may be addressed to various groups, like "website" and "today". So I can create a task, that I need to complete today, and I also mark it with group tag "website". This task will also appear in "website" group, so that if I want to lookup what do I need to do with my website I will see this task."

@CMorledge thanks for your feedback! We are in fact working on a totally optional "push to Google calendar" feature. This will be buried in the "more" menu and totally optional. The benefit is it will allow users to create date/time based alerts for themselves if needed.
